Finding Shoes for Plantar Fasciitis

Are you a runner?  Are you always on your feet? Many people who are frequently on their feet find themselves suffering with the painful plantar fasciitis.  Plantar Fasciitis is one of the most common causes of pain in the heel.  The plantar fascia is the flat band of tissue that connects your heel bone to your toes, and it supports the arch of your foot.  As you can see if you have problems with this it could become very painful.  A colleague of mine recently suffered with plantar fasciitis and said it was one of the worst things he has ever been through.  He made the goal to get in shape at the start of the year, and began walking just 2 miles a day.  The more he walked the more painful it got, until he could no longer walk without being in a lot of pain.  He went to the doctor and was told he had plantar fasciitis, and needed to take the steps necessary to care for his foot.  He was shocked, he had never even heard of this illness before.

If you are someone whose feet roll inward when you walk, have high arches or flat feet, walk run or stand for long periods of time, or are overweight, you have a high risk of getting plantar fasciitis.  Once you get this particular illness there are certain ways to treat and care for it.  If you think you may have plantar fasciitis, immediately seek help from a doctor, and follow these particular guidelines.

Rest Your Feet-If you are currently suffering through plantar fasciitis it’s important to stay off your feet for long periods of time.  Individuals who continue to walk and run, especially on hard surfaces are making it harder for their feet to heel and get better.

Ice & Medicate-Sometimes this illness can get to be too much.  This is when an over the counter pain reliever like IB profen or aspirin comes in handy.  It will help you deal with the pain, and help you to feel better.  Another important thing to do would be to ice your heel on a consistent basis to help care for it.

Preform Toe Stretches-Toe stretches is a great way to heal your plantar fasciitis; you can stretch your toes while you sit at your desk at work, right when you get up in the morning, and before you go to bed at night.  This will really help you to start feeling better.

Purchase A New Pair Of Shoes-There are many companies out there that make great shoes to help your feet feel better when you are suffering with a painful case of plantar fasciitis.  My colleague from work found a company that sold amazing shoes for plantar fasciitis it totally helped him to get back on his feet and out doing the things he loved again.  This is definitely a must if you are suffering with this particular illness.

If you find yourself battling plantar fasciitis on a daily basis it’s very important to first visit a doctor, and then take the added steps above to help make sure that you can cure your problem, and feels better while on your feet.  Don’t wait until it gets to be too miserable to walk, go out and take care of your plantar fasciitis today.
